Mikasa Ackerman is an orphan who was adopted by the Yeager family after her parents tragically passed away. She lived with Eren (The lead male protagonist of Attack on Titan) and his family until the events of Wall Maria occurred. Mikasa managed to escape the savagery caused by the colossal titan along with her dear friend, Eren. The same could not be said for Eren’s mother who was devoured by a straggling titan after the protective wall guarding the village crumbled. Soon after the incident Mikasa vowed to protect Eren at all costs just as he had protected her years ago from the people who killed her parents. She enlisted into the military, following in Eren’s footsteps to help him realize his dream of one day taking back Wall Maria and pushing back the invading titans from their beloved territory.

After her enlistment into 104th training corp, it became very apparent that Mikasa was extremely talented in the art of fighting and combat. She quickly honed her skills and was known to be the most formidable solider in her division and in the history of known trainees. Upon her graduation from the training corps she applied and was accepted to join the Survey Corp members of their military; a move she made in order to keep Eren safe from harms way.

To this day Mikasa continues to protect those she loves in the never ending battle with the humanoid creatures known as, Titans.

Mikasa is an exceptionally physically fit teenage-girl, with grayish-black hair that measures up to her shoulders.

Her eyes are a peaceful black and are normally holding a tranquil gaze the majority of the time. In some instances the color of her eyes have been known to change from shades of grey and blue depending on her surroundings.

Her natural attire is usually her military uniform with the Survey Corp badge accompanying her outfit.

The one thing that stands out on her compared to other character’s is the fact that she wears a dark red scarf that was gifted to her by Eren after her parents died.

Why we choose her:

Choosing Mikasa for our WOA segment was a natural decision. She is full of uniqueness and admerable characteristics. Her aura is pure and true; it makes others gravitate to her and change their way of being for the better. She is someone who can be described as a protector and provider to those she holds dear. Mikasa doesn’t have a family because they were taken away from her at a young age, and that is something that she uses as the fuel for her drive to defend the things she cares about most.

Her will and ability to go against all odds is trust inspiring. In the manga it has been said that Mikasa is worth the amount of 1000 high-class soliders due her incredible knowledge and combat abilities, and we agree. She is one of a kind and person who is true to their convictions.

“There are only so many lives I can value. And…I decided who those people were six years ago. So…You shouldn’t try to ask for my pity. Because right now, I don’t have…Time to spare or room in my heart.”

“I am strong. Stronger than all of you. Extremely strong. I can kill all the titans out there. Even if I am alone.”

“That’s right… This world… is cruel. It hit me that living was like a miracle.”
